About the role
This interview focuses on how you create a credible demand signal when history, promotions and commercial ambition point in different directions. The panel wants a manager who understands forecast performance, can challenge assumptions with tact and turns uncertainty into clear business choices.
How to prepare
- Prepare a case where your intervention reduced bias, improved availability or prevented excess stock.
- Be ready to explain forecast error, bias and the level at which each measure should be reviewed.
- Practise separating a statistical baseline from promotional, distribution and launch assumptions.
- Think through demand scenarios for delayed imports, pack changes and sudden channel shifts.
- Review how you run a demand review and resolve assumptions that remain disputed.
Common mistakes
- Using one aggregate accuracy number that hides product and location failures.
- Accepting optimistic commercial inputs without evidence or a recorded assumption.
- Explaining forecast misses without showing what changed in the next planning cycle.
