About the role
This interview tests how you turn imperfect sales history and commercial intelligence into a usable demand forecast. The panel will look for sound analysis, clear assumptions and the confidence to challenge optimistic inputs while keeping sales and supply teams aligned.
How to prepare
- Review how you separate baseline demand from promotions, stock-outs and one-off orders.
- Prepare an example of finding and correcting forecast bias or a recurring planning error.
- Practise explaining forecast accuracy measures in plain language and choosing the right level of detail.
- Think through how you would run a demand review when sales and supply have conflicting priorities.
- Refresh your Excel methods for cleaning data, comparing versions and highlighting exceptions.
Common mistakes
- Treating the statistical forecast as final without testing commercial events and supply history.
- Quoting one accuracy measure without explaining its limitations or level of aggregation.
- Accepting every sales uplift without recording assumptions and risks.
