Acceptable use policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
This policy sets out what you may and may not do on Intaviu: the website, the web interview room and the desktop app. It applies to candidates and interview creators, and is part of our terms of service.
Taking an interview
An interview shows the interview creator how you think and speak. Answer it yourself. During an interview, don't:
- Use AI tools, notes written for you or another screen to produce your answers, unless the interview creator has said you may.
- Get help from another person, in the room or remotely.
- Let someone else take the interview for you, or take one for someone else.
- Record, copy or share the interview creator's questions, or share an interview link or personal passcode meant only for you.
- Try to steer the interviewer or the scoring with instructions, for example by telling it what score to give.
Practice interviews are for your own preparation, and the rules above don't limit how you practise. Don't share or sell their content.
Strikes
If an interview creator sees one of the things above in an interview you took with them, they can report a strike against your account, with a description of what they saw. Interview creators can only report strikes for interviews you took with them.
- You are emailed when a strike is reported and can appeal it within 14 days. Intaviu reviews appeals and either upholds or overturns the strike.
- Interview creators you interview with can see how many active strikes you have and what kind, but not who reported them or their description.
- A strike stops counting 12 months after it was reported.
- On a paid plan, you can clear a strike with credits once it is 14 days old and not under appeal. Each further strike cleared within 12 months costs twice as much as the last.
- Repeated or serious breaches can lead to us suspending or closing your account.
Running interviews
If you use Intaviu to interview people, you must also follow our terms of service. In particular, don't:
- Interview people without telling them they will be interviewed by an AI interviewer. The website and app show this and collect their consent.
- Ask about, or score people on, age, religion, ethnicity or tribe, state of origin, marital status, pregnancy, health or disability, or use Intaviu to discriminate in any other unlawful way.
- Use an evaluation as the only basis for a decision about someone. A person must review it.
- Add details or files about a candidate that you have no lawful reason to hold and share for this process.
- Report a strike you don't honestly believe is justified, or use strikes to punish someone for reasons other than how they took the interview.
- Advertise roles, programmes or awards that don't exist, ask candidates for payment to be interviewed, or use interviews to collect personal data for any other purpose.
- Request a verified badge with details that aren't yours or aren't true.
Voices, photos and files
- Only make a custom interviewer voice from a recording of your own voice, or of someone who has agreed to it.
- Only use a photo for an interviewer character if you have the right to use it, and never a photo of a real person who hasn't agreed.
- Don't upload files that contain malware, that you have no right to share, or that are unlawful.
Everyone
Whoever you are, don't:
- Break the law, or use Intaviu to harass, threaten, defraud or impersonate anyone, including Intaviu.
- Send spam, or invite people who haven't asked to hear from you.
- Try to get into accounts, workspaces or data that aren't yours, or test our security in ways that could harm other people or the service.
- Overload, disrupt, scrape or reverse engineer the service, or get around its limits or payments.
- Resell or give others access to Intaviu, or to your account, except as your plan allows.
What we do about breaches
We may remove content, pause interviews, limit features, or suspend or close an account that breaks this policy, and we will tell you what we did and why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. Where the law requires, we report unlawful activity to the authorities.
