About the role
This interview tests how you diagnose and improve the radio access network using counters, traces, drive tests and sound RF principles. The panel wants evidence that you can choose safe changes, measure their effect and explain trade-offs across coverage, capacity and quality.
How to prepare
- Revise the radio measurements and key performance indicators used to investigate accessibility, retainability, mobility and throughput.
- Prepare an optimisation case where you moved from symptoms to root cause and verified the result.
- Practise explaining how antenna configuration, neighbours, interference and load interact in a busy cluster.
- Review how you plan, approve, roll back and monitor a parameter change.
- Be ready to discuss how you prioritise several clusters with different customer and traffic impacts.
Common mistakes
- Listing counters without connecting them to a testable diagnosis.
- Proposing parameter changes without considering adjacent cells or rollback criteria.
- Claiming an improvement without a baseline, observation period or customer impact.
