About the role
This interview tests how you investigate and improve the radio network after it is live. The panel is looking for someone who connects counters and drive-test evidence, changes one thing for a clear reason, watches neighbouring cells and can reverse a change when the wider result is worse.
How to prepare
- Review common radio measures for signal level, signal quality, throughput and mobility.
- Practise explaining how you would investigate a dropped-call cluster or a slow-data area.
- Revise sources of interference and why strong signal can still produce poor service.
- Study how antenna tilt, neighbour relations and handover settings affect surrounding cells.
- Prepare a method for comparing performance before and after a controlled change.
Common mistakes
- Suggesting parameter changes before checking alarms, traffic patterns and field evidence.
- Looking only at the target cell and ignoring the effect on its neighbours.
- Using radio measures as interchangeable labels without explaining what each indicates.
- Declaring success without a stable baseline or a rollback condition.
