About the role
This interview tests the thinking behind senior motion design, not just the finish of an animation. The panel wants to see strong timing and typography, an original response to the brief, dependable technical delivery and the ability to turn one idea into a useful visual system.
How to prepare
- Choose portfolio projects that show different kinds of motion, such as broadcast graphics, explainers and social content.
- Break down one project from brief and storyboard through animation, feedback and delivery.
- Review how you design for readability, safe areas, captions and different screen shapes.
- Prepare an example of improving a concept after difficult creative feedback.
- Be ready to explain how you organise assets, reduce render risk and hand projects to another designer.
Common mistakes
- Describing effects without explaining the communication problem they solve.
- Showing collaborative work without stating exactly what you designed or animated.
- Treating every platform as a simple resize of the same composition.
- Ignoring typography, sound, readability or export quality while discussing visual flair.
