About the award
A research fellowship interview decides who receives time and funding to carry out a research project. The panel looks at the quality of your idea, whether the timeline and methods are realistic, why the work matters to your field and beyond, and whether your track record shows you can deliver.
How to prepare
- Practise a two-minute summary of your project that a non-specialist on the panel can follow.
- Break your timeline into clear stages and know what you will have achieved at each one.
- Prepare honest answers on the main risks to the project and how you will handle them.
- Know the recent work in your area well enough to explain what is new about yours.
- Be ready to link your past outputs to the skills this project needs.
Common mistakes
