About the role
This interview focuses on the platforms and interfaces that establish and control mobile data sessions. Interviewers are assessing whether you can follow a subscriber session through the packet core, interpret signalling evidence and restore service without overlooking policy, charging or transport dependencies.
How to prepare
- Draw the data session flow for the mobile generations you have supported and label the main interfaces.
- Review common causes of access point name, DNS, tunnel, policy and charging failures.
- Prepare an example where traces or counters changed your initial diagnosis.
- Revise the capacity indicators you monitor for control and user plane functions.
Common mistakes
- Reciting node names while losing the sequence of the subscriber session.
- Blaming the radio network before checking tunnel and policy evidence.
- Validating an upgrade with platform alarms but no subscriber service test.
