About the role
This is a maintenance leadership interview for a food processing and packaging environment. It tests how you improve equipment availability while protecting hygiene, product integrity and worker safety. The panel will expect practical command of planned work, breakdown learning, spares and shift team discipline.
How to prepare
- Review how hygienic design and cleaning requirements affect lubrication, materials, tools and repair methods.
- Prepare an example of reducing minor stops or chronic breakdowns on a processing or packaging line.
- Practise explaining the controls required before maintenance starts and before a food line is released.
- Think through a critical spares decision involving lead time, failure consequence and alternative supply.
- Prepare a clear account of how you improved maintenance handovers or technician capability.
Common mistakes
- Treating food safety as the quality team's responsibility after the repair is complete.
- Focusing only on long breakdowns and ignoring repeated short stops and speed loss.
- Suggesting improvised parts or lubricants without checking food contact and design requirements.
- Giving a root cause story that ends with replacing the failed component.
