About the role
This interview assesses how you keep a treatment process stable as raw-water quality, equipment condition and test results change. The panel is looking for evidence-based adjustments, careful validation of water quality, safe chemical practice and reliable shift-to-shift control.
How to prepare
- Revise the purpose and control variables of the main treatment stages relevant to the plant you know.
- Practise tracing an abnormal result through sampling, analysis, instrumentation and process conditions.
- Prepare an example where you balanced maintenance needs with continuity of treatment.
- Review safe chemical storage, transfer, dosing and spill response principles.
- Think about the records needed to justify a process adjustment and brief the next shift.
Common mistakes
- Changing chemical dose without confirming the result through representative sampling and testing.
- Trusting either an online instrument or a single laboratory result without checking the discrepancy.
- Prioritising uninterrupted flow over treatment quality or chemical safety.
- Describing maintenance decisions without considering standby capacity and failure risk.
