About the role
This graduate trainee interview tests your readiness to learn the full warehouse flow in a manufacturing business. Expect practical questions about receiving, location control, issuing, stock counts and safe movement around equipment. The panel values accuracy, curiosity and respect for controls more than extensive work experience.
How to prepare
- Map the steps from delivery arrival through checking, put-away, picking and issue.
- Revise the purpose of delivery notes, goods receipt records and material issue documents.
- Prepare an example that shows you followed a process carefully under pressure.
- Think through common reasons why physical and system stock may differ.
- Review safe behaviour around pallets, racking, forklifts and pedestrian routes.
Common mistakes
- Accepting damaged or short goods without recording the condition and difference.
- Moving stock to an empty space without updating its location.
- Bypassing issue controls because production says the request is urgent.
- Treating warehouse safety as only the forklift driver's responsibility.
