About the role

This interview covers the daily control of a manufacturing warehouse, from receiving and storage to safe line supply and dispatch. The panel will assess whether you can protect people and stock, keep system records aligned with physical inventory and lead a shift through changing priorities.

How to prepare

  1. Review receiving, put-away, picking, staging and dispatch controls.
  2. Prepare an example of investigating and correcting an inventory variance.
  3. Think through safe forklift movement, stacking, segregation and spill response.
  4. Be ready to explain batch, lot and expiry traceability.
  5. Practise describing how you assign labour and monitor a warehouse shift.

Common mistakes

  • Prioritising speed when equipment, racking or pedestrian safety is at risk.
  • Correcting a stock balance without finding the process that caused the variance.
  • Giving instructions at the start of a shift without checking progress and constraints.
