About the role

This interview assesses how you test software that moves money. The panel wants structured test coverage, accurate defect evidence and an understanding of payment states, especially where timeouts and delayed processing make outcomes uncertain.

How to prepare

  1. Map a payment from initiation to its final status and list the places where it can fail.
  2. Practise writing positive, negative, boundary and interrupted-flow test cases.
  3. Review API testing basics, including requests, responses, status codes and transaction references.
  4. Prepare an example of a defect you found and the evidence that helped resolve it.
  5. Think about what should block a payment release and what could be monitored after release.

Common mistakes

  • Testing only the successful path and ignoring interruptions or duplicate actions.
  • Logging a defect without steps, evidence, test data or the observed result.
  • Calling a payment failed before checking whether it is pending or later reversed.
