About the role
This interview focuses on architectural judgement for a live SaaS platform used by many customers. The panel will test how you handle tenant boundaries, change a system safely, balance product and operational needs and give teams guidance they can apply without constant approval.
How to prepare
- Choose a SaaS platform you know and identify its tenant, identity, data, integration and configuration boundaries.
- Prepare a decision story with the options considered, evidence used, trade-offs accepted and later outcome.
- Review patterns for tenant isolation, auditability, resilience and customer-specific configuration.
- Plan how you would replace a central capability while old and new paths operate together.
- Practise presenting technical investment in terms of customer risk, delivery speed and operating cost.
Common mistakes
- Presenting a target diagram without a credible path from the current system.
- Using microservices as a default rather than a response to clear boundaries.
- Ignoring how customer-specific choices affect support and operations.
- Creating architecture governance that delays teams without improving decisions.
