About the role
This interview tests whether you can turn a humanitarian response plan into safe, timely field delivery. The panel is looking for sound prioritisation, respectful community engagement, control of operational risks and reporting that reflects what actually happened.
How to prepare
- Map one emergency project from assessment through implementation, monitoring and close-out.
- Prepare an example of recovering an activity that was delayed by access, procurement or staffing constraints.
- Review how you would maintain a risk register and escalate a serious delivery issue.
- Think through how targeting decisions should be explained to community representatives.
- Practise connecting field evidence, spending and activity progress in a short donor update.
Common mistakes
- Treating the original workplan as fixed when conditions in the field have changed.
- Promising assistance before eligibility and available resources are confirmed.
- Reporting activity counts without explaining delays, quality or corrective action.
