About the role
This interview covers the product decisions behind checkout and online payments. The panel is assessing whether you can understand payment states, reduce customer friction, interpret a funnel and make sensible trade-offs among conversion, reliability, fraud and delivery risk.
How to prepare
- Map the path from cart to confirmed order, including uncertain payment and recovery states.
- Prepare a product example where a headline metric improved but a guardrail metric worsened.
- Revise payment authorisation, callbacks, retries, reconciliation, refunds and duplicate-charge prevention.
- Practise prioritising reliability work against a visible customer feature.
- Think through the roles of engineering, finance, risk, support and fulfilment in a checkout change.

- Treating a successful payment response as proof that the full order journey succeeded.
