About the role
This manager interview tests end-to-end control of electricity metering, from equipment and installation quality to interval data, inventory and customer disputes. The panel wants a leader who can increase deployment without losing traceability, identify systematic errors quickly and make defensible decisions from technical and commercial evidence.
How to prepare
- Review direct and transformer-operated metering, CT ratios, polarity, sealing, commissioning and field audit checks.
- Prepare an example of using consumption or exception data to find a systematic metering problem.
- Map the asset trail from procurement and warehousing through installation, activation, exchange and retirement.
- Think through contractor scorecards that measure installation quality as well as deployment volume.
- Prepare a difficult billing or meter dispute where you separated evidence from assumptions.
Common mistakes
- Measuring deployment success only by the number of meters installed.
- Correcting an individual meter without checking whether the defect affects a wider batch or process.
- Treating every consumption change as tampering before checking configuration, communications and data handling.
- Resolving a customer dispute without preserving test results and a clear decision trail.
