About the role
This interview tests how you turn a media plan into well-priced, correctly delivered placements. The panel wants evidence that you understand audiences, negotiate firmly, watch budget pacing and challenge discrepancies rather than simply processing bookings.
How to prepare
- Choose a campaign where your buying decision improved reach, response or cost efficiency and note what you changed.
- Revise how insertion orders, booking confirmations, proof of placement and supplier invoices fit together.
- Practise explaining a channel choice using the audience, campaign goal, timing and budget.
- Prepare an example of a supplier negotiation that protected placement quality as well as price.
- Review how you spot underdelivery early and decide whether to optimise, request make-good inventory or move spend.
Common mistakes
- Treating the lowest rate as the best deal without assessing audience quality or placement.
- Discussing reach and impressions without connecting them to the campaign objective.
- Moving budget before checking tracking, creative, inventory and delivery settings.
- Ignoring reconciliation and proof of placement when describing campaign close-out.
