About the role
This interview focuses on supervising an LPG plant where a small error can quickly become a serious release or fire. The panel will assess how you control product receipt and dispensing, recognise weak barriers, manage hazardous work, direct an emergency response and maintain discipline with staff and customers.
How to prepare
- Review the checks needed before receiving LPG into a storage vessel.
- Prepare an example of detecting and controlling a gas leak or loss of containment.
- Think through the first actions for fire, gas release and emergency shutdown situations.
- Revise how you control ignition sources and hazardous maintenance around LPG equipment.
- Prepare an example of enforcing a safety rule with a difficult customer or contractor.
Common mistakes
- Relying only on a detector alarm when other signs suggest a gas release.
- Starting receipt without confirming available vessel capacity and the correct transfer route.
- Describing firefighting before isolating the source and protecting people from escalation.
