About this interview
This interview checks whether the employment and permit application are genuine and whether you understand the role you have accepted in Ireland. The interviewer may compare your answers with the job offer, employment details, qualifications and permit application.
How to prepare
- Read your permit application, job offer and employment contract together and note the details that must remain consistent.
- Prepare to explain your main duties in plain language and connect them to your experience.
- Review how you were recruited and the people or teams you expect to work with.
- Plan your initial accommodation, travel and first days at work without making unsupported claims.
- Check the relevant Irish official sites for current permit and immigration rules.
Common mistakes
- Being unable to describe the work beyond repeating the job title.
- Giving employment details that differ from the submitted contract.
- Exaggerating contact with the employer or inventing recruitment steps.
- Assuming approval means later changes do not need to follow official rules.
