About the role
This is an executive compliance interview for a regulated financial technology business in Nigeria. The panel wants to know whether you can interpret changing obligations, build controls that work in practice and give independent challenge without losing commercial credibility. You should also show sound judgement in regulatory communication and financial crime oversight.
How to prepare
- Check the official regulator sites for the current rules and guidance relevant to the products in scope.
- Prepare an example of translating a regulatory change into product, process and control actions.
- Review how you would report material compliance risks and overdue remediation to the board.
- Practise explaining your approach to compliance monitoring, issue ownership and closure testing.
- Think through how you would communicate an error or control failure to a regulator.
Common mistakes
- Reciting regulations without connecting them to customer journeys and operating controls.
- Treating compliance as an approval desk rather than an independent risk function.
- Minimising a reporting error or delaying escalation while facts are being gathered.
