About the role
This interview tests whether you can serve customers quickly without compromising forecourt safety or payment accuracy. The panel will look for polite communication, honest handling of cash and POS issues, and calm action when a spill or ignition risk appears.
How to prepare
- Review basic forecourt rules for engines, smoking, phones, containers and spills.
- Practise confirming the fuel type and naira amount before dispensing.
- Think through how you would handle a queue, an upset driver and a disputed payment.
- Review simple shift reconciliation and how pump readings support sales records.
- Prepare an example that shows honesty with cash, stock or a customer mistake.
Common mistakes
- Arguing with a customer before checking the pump display and transaction record.
- Ignoring unsafe behaviour because the customer is in a hurry.
- Guessing how to resolve an uncertain electronic payment instead of following the station process.
- Hiding a cash difference or changing a record to make the shift balance.
