About the role
This interview tests whether you can lead analytics for a complex online retail operation and make its numbers trustworthy. The panel wants strong commercial reasoning, disciplined measurement, practical data governance and examples of helping leaders act on analysis.
How to prepare
- Review the relationships among traffic, conversion, cancellations, returns, fulfilment cost and contribution margin.
- Prepare an example of resolving a disputed metric definition across several teams.
- Choose an analysis where several events could explain the result and describe how you isolated the drivers.
- Be ready to explain how you triage urgent requests and protect time for high-value analytical work.
- Review a dashboard you have built and identify the decision each section supports.
Common mistakes
- Reporting trends without connecting them to a decision or commercial consequence.
- Presenting correlation as a confirmed cause.
- Giving technical detail without explaining assumptions and limitations.
- Fixing a dashboard silently instead of addressing ownership and downstream decisions.
