About the role
This interview focuses on designing and installing a completion that can deliver the well objective throughout its operating life. The panel wants to hear how you balance reservoir needs, equipment limits, barriers, intervention access and execution risk, with clear ownership of technical decisions.
How to prepare
- Revise completion architecture, tubing design, packer selection and flow-control equipment.
- Prepare to compare open-hole, cased-hole and sand-control choices using well-specific evidence.
- Review barrier verification and pressure-testing decisions across the completion sequence.
- Choose an example of a vendor or rig-site deviation that required formal change control.
- Be ready to explain how completion choices affect later production and intervention work.
Common mistakes
- Naming preferred equipment without linking it to loads, fluids and well-life requirements.
- Treating pressure tests as a formality instead of evidence that a barrier performs.
- Ignoring intervention access and production surveillance after installation.
- Describing vendor recommendations without explaining your own verification.
