About the role
This interview follows a motor claim from first notification through investigation, repair assessment and settlement. The panel is testing whether you can establish what happened, apply cover fairly, control leakage and give claimants clear updates when evidence or decisions are delayed.
How to prepare
- Review the evidence used to establish cause, damage, liability and policy response in a motor claim.
- Prepare an example where you challenged a repair estimate or negotiated a settlement.
- Think through how you would document inconsistencies before making a fraud referral.
- Practise explaining a partial settlement, declined item or total-loss decision to a frustrated claimant.
- Revise how salvage, depreciation, excesses and betterment can affect a settlement where applicable.
Common mistakes
- Assuming fraud from one inconsistency instead of gathering corroborating evidence.
- Accepting repair costs without checking whether the damage matches the incident.
- Keeping the claimant uninformed while waiting for a report.
- Reaching a settlement without showing how policy terms were applied.
