About the role
This interview examines how you assess skin, choose and deliver treatments, and recognise when a service is not appropriate. The panel is looking for sound hygiene, safe boundaries, confident hands-on knowledge and honest client advice. Good answers separate cosmetic care from medical diagnosis and show careful documentation and follow-up.
How to prepare
- Revise a structured skin consultation, including treatment history, sensitivities, current products and relevant contraindications.
- Review facial steps, product functions and ways to adapt pressure, timing and technique to the skin response.
- Prepare examples of stopping, changing or postponing a service for safety reasons.
- Practise explaining aftercare in plain language without promising a particular result.
- Think through how you document a treatment and respond to a later client concern.
Common mistakes
- Recommending an intensive treatment before completing a proper consultation.
- Diagnosing medical skin conditions or promising that a cosmetic service will cure them.
- Treating retail sales as more important than suitability, safety and the client's budget.
