About the role
This internship interview explores how you would protect product quality through careful testing and useful defect reports. The panel expects curiosity, structure and attention to user impact rather than deep automation experience. Examples can come from coursework, personal projects or products you have tested independently.
How to prepare
- Practise writing test cases from a short requirement, including boundaries and invalid input.
- Learn the parts of a useful bug report, including steps, expected behaviour, actual behaviour and evidence.
- Review basic browser tools and how a client, an API and a database interact.
- Choose a familiar application and identify its highest-risk user journeys.
- Prepare an example of noticing a small detail that others had missed.
Common mistakes
- Describing testing as clicking around without a goal or record.
- Reporting that something is broken without clear reproduction steps.
- Testing only the expected path and ignoring invalid or interrupted actions.
- Arguing about ownership instead of helping the team understand the defect.
