About the role

How to prepare

- Practise explaining one tactical pattern with a small number of clips and measures.
- Prepare to discuss conflicting evidence from video, event data, tracking data and staff observation.
- Think through how you assign urgent work and review outputs across an analysis team.
Common mistakes
- Listing tools and metrics without explaining the football question they answer.
- Presenting too many clips or charts for the time and audience available.
- Ignoring coding definitions, sample context or missing data when making comparisons.
- Treating disagreement with a coach as proof that the analysis is more objective.
