About the role
This interview assesses your ability to lead a pharmaceutical quality system and make independent decisions when evidence is incomplete or delivery pressure is high. The panel wants practical command of batch disposition, investigations, CAPA, change control, audits and the people work required to build shared GMP ownership.
How to prepare
- Review how deviations, CAPAs, changes, complaints and management review connect within a quality system.
- Prepare a difficult batch disposition decision and explain the evidence, escalation and final rationale.
- Choose an example where you rejected a superficial root cause and improved the investigation.
- Practise explaining how you prepare a site for inspection through routine controls rather than last-minute activity.
- Think through how you develop quality staff and influence operations when priorities conflict.
Common mistakes
- Releasing on schedule pressure before the evidence supports a defensible decision.
- Accepting retraining as the default CAPA without examining process and system causes.
- Describing inspection readiness as document tidying just before an audit.
- Presenting quality assurance as the sole owner of GMP instead of an independent partner with oversight.
