About the role
This interview tests how you receive, assess, document and escalate information about suspected adverse events. The panel wants accurate case handling, an understanding of reporting obligations and calm communication with reporters and internal teams. Strong answers separate confirmed facts from assumptions and explain how missing information would be pursued.
How to prepare
- Revise the minimum information needed for a valid safety case and how you assess seriousness and expectedness.
- Practise building a clear event chronology from incomplete or conflicting source information.
- Prepare an example of a case quality issue you found and how you corrected it.
- Review how case reconciliation, duplicate checks and follow-up attempts should be documented.
- Think through how you would present a possible safety signal without overstating the evidence.
Common mistakes
- Diagnosing the patient instead of documenting and assessing the reported information.
- Ignoring missing dates, treatment details or outcomes that affect case assessment.
- Treating every repeated event as a confirmed signal without reviewing the wider evidence.
- Forgetting to document follow-up attempts, decisions and handovers.
