About the role
This interview is for a manager accountable for the quality and compliance of a medicine safety system. The panel will look for strong case oversight, balanced signal judgement, reliable partner controls and the confidence to communicate emerging risks clearly while evidence is still developing.
How to prepare
- Review the path of a safety report from initial receipt through follow-up, assessment, submission and archiving.
- Prepare an example of evaluating a possible safety signal with incomplete or conflicting evidence.
- Revise how safety data are reconciled with medical information, product complaints, clinical studies and partners.
- Prepare an example of improving case quality or compliance with an external vendor.
- Practise explaining a developing benefit-risk concern to both technical and non-technical leaders.
- Review how training records, procedures, agreements, metrics and corrective actions support inspection readiness.
Common mistakes
- Treating timely reporting as the only measure of a sound pharmacovigilance system.
- Assuming incomplete reports can be ignored instead of followed up and assessed.
- Jumping from a small number of cases to a causal conclusion without evaluating the wider evidence.
- Failing to define ownership at interfaces with medical, quality, regulatory and commercial teams.
