About the role
This interview tests how you manage and grow a portfolio of individual banking customers. The panel is looking for sound product judgement, credible sales habits, careful account handling and the ability to preserve trust when service fails.
How to prepare
- Review common current, savings, lending and investment products and the needs each one can meet.
- Prepare an example of growing a customer relationship through useful advice or timely follow-up.
- Practise explaining fees, risks and product conditions in simple language.
- Think through how you would handle a complaint while another team investigates the underlying issue.
Common mistakes
- Treating every conversation as a chance to sell rather than first understanding the customer.
- Promising an outcome or resolution time that another team has not confirmed.
- Describing customer checks as paperwork instead of an important control.
