About the role
This is a practical interview for operating packaging machinery safely and consistently. The panel is checking whether you follow standard settings, notice product defects, control materials and communicate stoppages clearly across shifts.
How to prepare
- Review the pre-start checks for the packaging machines you have seen or operated.
- Think through common causes of poor seals, misaligned film and unreadable codes.
- Prepare an example of stopping work because a machine or product condition was unsafe.
- Revise how packaging materials are identified, issued and cleared during a changeover.
- Practise a short handover covering output, waste, faults and work still in progress.
Common mistakes
- Saying you would reach into moving equipment to clear a minor blockage.
- Treating the production target as more important than an unusual sound or unsafe condition.
- Giving a handover that omits waste, repeated stops or unresolved quality concerns.
