About the programme
A law school admission interview helps the panel decide whether you have the reasoning, integrity and communication skills that legal study needs. They look at why you want to study law, how you build and test an argument, and how clearly you explain your thinking.
How to prepare
- Reflect on why law appeals to you and find a real experience that shows it.
- Follow a few recent legal news stories and be ready to discuss one from more than one side.
- Practise building an argument, then argue the other side to test it.
- Learn the basic structure of the courts and legal system in your country.
- Think of a time you stood by what was right when it was not easy.
Common mistakes
- Wanting to study law only because of the status it carries.
- Refusing to change your view when the panel points out a weakness in your argument.
- Using legal terms you cannot explain.
