About the role
This interview tests how you inspect materials and components before they enter production or stock. The panel wants careful comparison with specifications, sound use of measuring tools, firm control of rejected items and clear evidence when suppliers must respond.
How to prepare
- Review checks for material identity, quantity, visible condition, dimensions and required specification.
- Practise choosing a measuring instrument that suits the feature and tolerance being checked.
- Think through how representative sampling avoids convenience and selection bias.
- Prepare an example of separating suspect material and making its status unmistakable.
- Revise how defect descriptions, measurements and batch details support supplier follow-up.
Common mistakes
- Accepting damaged material because the paperwork and quantity are correct.
- Using a measuring tool without checking its condition, range or suitability.
- Allowing rejected material to remain in normal stock without clear segregation.
