About the role
This executive interview tests how you would run network operations across technologies, regions and suppliers. The panel is looking for sound judgement during major incidents, a clear reliability strategy and evidence that you can turn technical risk into commercial decisions. You should show how you lead senior specialists while keeping customers and executives properly informed.
How to prepare
- Map the responsibilities of radio, transmission, core, IP, power, field and service management teams during an outage.
- Prepare an example of a major incident you led, including the decisions, communication and permanent corrective action.
- Review how availability, mean time to restore, repeat faults, change failures and customer impact should be measured together.
- Be ready to explain how you prioritise resilience investment when capital and operating budgets are constrained.
- Think through how you would govern managed-service partners and internal teams under one operating model.
Common mistakes
- Treating network availability as a purely technical measure without connecting it to customer impact.
- Describing incident command without clear decision rights, escalation points or communication ownership.
- Blaming vendors for repeat faults without explaining contract governance and internal accountability.
- Listing many measures without showing which ones drive action.
