About this interview
This interview checks whether your proposed study in Germany is genuine, practical and financially supported. The interviewer may compare your answers with your application and look for a clear link between your background, your course and your plans after study.
How to prepare
- Review your course structure, teaching language, institution and expected study workload.
- Practise explaining how the course follows from your education or work experience.
- Trace each source of funding and be ready to explain any recent or unusual transactions honestly.
- Plan how you will describe accommodation, travel and settling into daily life.
- Check the official German visa site and the responsible mission for current rules and documents.
Common mistakes
- Reciting a course description without connecting it to your own goals.
- Giving funding figures or sources that conflict with the submitted evidence.
- Knowing the city but little about the actual course.
- Making unsupported claims about what will happen after graduation.
