About the role
This interview combines practical crop knowledge with field sales and distributor support. The panel wants to see that you diagnose before recommending, explain product value honestly, plan a productive territory and build the farmer trust that supports repeat business.
How to prepare
- Revise common crop nutrition, pest and disease symptoms relevant to the territory and how to distinguish similar problems.
- Prepare a sales example that shows the customer need, your recommendation, the objection and the outcome.
- Think through a simple field demonstration that would produce credible evidence for farmers and distributors.
- Review how you would plan calls, track distributor stock and prioritise opportunities during peak season.
- Prepare an example of refusing an unsuitable sale while keeping the customer relationship.
Common mistakes
- Recommending a product before diagnosing the field problem.
- Promising a yield outcome that depends on factors beyond the product.
- Focusing on farmer visits while ignoring distributor stock and follow-up.
- Discussing sales targets without showing how you organise territory activity.
