About the programme
An executive MBA interview is a senior-level discussion about the scale of your leadership experience and the limits you still need to address. The panel assesses strategic judgement, accountability for difficult choices, influence across an organisation and your readiness to learn alongside other experienced leaders.
How to prepare
- Select strategic decisions where you can explain trade-offs, rejected options and consequences beyond your own function.
- Review how your leadership approach has changed as your remit and team have grown.
- Prepare one example of influencing peers or senior stakeholders who did not report to you.
- Define the next level of responsibility you seek and the capabilities it will require.
- Consider what peers from other industries could challenge in your usual way of thinking.
Common mistakes
- Reciting achievements without examining the judgement or trade-offs behind them.
- Using senior titles and budget size as the only evidence of leadership impact.
- Blaming resistance on other people instead of showing how you listened and adapted.
- Suggesting that your main contribution will be teaching less experienced classmates.
